Early diagnosis of infectious disease should be made a priority in Latin America, to help tackle endemic infectious diseases and antimicrobial resistance. This is among the conclusions of the Southern Cone and Amazon Network Surveillance Joint Meeting on Emerging and Re-emerging Infectious Diseases, held last month in Atlanta.
