Anika Therapeutics (Woburn, Massachusetts), a developer, manufacturer and commercialiser of therapeutic products and devices for the repair, protection and healing of bone, cartilage and soft tissue, has announced two appointments. Charles Sherwood, the current president and COO, has had his responsibilities expanded to include CEO. Dr Sherwood, who joined Anika as vice-president of product development in 1998, replaces Douglas Potter, who will continue to serve as CFO until a successor is found. Robert Tellis, who has over 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry, has been appointed as senior vice-president of marketing.
