New Zealand has established a special advisory group whose duty it will be to help improve the country's national cervical screening programme (NCSP). The group, which met for the first time yesterday, consists of eight members. The new body replaces a previous external advisory group that was disbanded in 2002 and had provided advice for both the NCSP and the BreastScreen Aotearoa screening programme. A separate advisory group for breast cancer screening is also in place.
