Saudi medical firm to boost private healthcare

A new Saudi Arabian medical company has been set up to promote the participation of the private sector in the health service. Licensed by the commerce and industry secretary Dr Hashim Yamani, the company will be allowed to establish, own, furnish, operate, manage and maintain hospitals and other healthcare facilities. It can also engage in wholesale and retail trade of medical equipment and own vehicles equipped with medical facilities. Further to this, the company will be allowed to develop property to improve its financial base.
