Executive Summary
Cytyc (Boxborough, Massachusetts), the designer, developer, manufacturer and marketer of the ThinPrep System for use in medical diagnostic applications, notably cervical screening, has appointed John McDonough as vice-president of corporate development. Mr McDonough has over 20 years of financial, operational and business development leadership in high technology companies. Cytyc's chairman, president and CEO Patrick Sullivan also said that the company's executive vice-president Dan Levangie is to take a "broader leadership role" comprising global sales, marketing and customer service responsibilities. The new appointments coincide with the resignation of the company's CFO Robert Bowen, who joined the company three years ago. Leslie Teso-Lichtman, Cytyc's vice-president and controller, will assume Mr Bowen's responsibilities on an interim basis.
