Aethlon Medical (La Jolla, California), a developer of haemopurification devices to treat HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis-C, and other infectious diseases, has appointed Jean-Claude Chermann, to its science advisory board. Dr Chermann, who currently serves as chief scientific director at Canadian company Urrma Biopharma, was the principle investigator on the research team that first isolated and characterised HIV at the Pasteur Institute in 1983.
