Bovie Medical has entered into an exclusive worldwide licence agreement with Emergency Medical Innovations to manufacture and market a patent-pending disposable suture removal device. The device, once cleared for sale by the US FDA, will reduce the time spent removing stitches in a doctor's office, medical clinic or emergency room, said the St Petersburg, Florida firm. Using Bovie's cautery manufacturing expertise, the product is designed to remove sutures with a faster tension-free cut and will be used in various medical procedures.
