This article was originally published in Clinica

Executive Summary

Two-thirds of Norway's hospitals have now either have or are in the process of installing "filmless" X-ray units or PACS (picture archiving and communications systems), says the Norwegian doctors' association. Roald Bergstrcentm, senior advisor at the competence centre for IT in the health service (KITH), is due to report on the state of PACS at the third national PACS conference in Trondheim last week. KITH is hoping to create a national strategy to tackle complications linked to introducing PACS to hospitals.
