Europe's industry concerned over Japanese pricing:
This article was originally published in Clinica
EUCOMED, the European medical devices industry association, has written to Japanese Health Minister Chikara Sakaguchi urging him to rethink the prospective national reference pricing system for certain device categories. The US Senate recently asked Prime Minister Koizumi to intervene and halt the system, which will come into force on April 1 (see Clinica No 991, p 11). US industry is also following developments closely and is trying to sway Japan away from its adopted course (see this issue, page 11).
