Reperfusion therapy underused after heart attack

Executive Summary
Up to a third of patients with a severe heart attack may not be receiving reperfusion therapy, such as fibrinolytic agents and/or coronary angioplasty, despite the well-known benefits of this treatment strategy. This is the conclusion of an international team of researchers, whose report appears in the February 2 issue of The Lancet.
