Executive Summary

An internet enabled survey run by the Australian medical device industry association, MIAA, has revealed that 55% of companies have a website, and a further 18% are intending to establish one within 12 months. The survey was carried out in September in two halves (people and products), which together formed the Metrics 2001 Survey. Other findings from the survey showed that customer online activity remains conservative, with hard copy sales material - catalogues, brochures, etc - still the preferred marketing tool for customers.
