The first of a Scottish network of oncology clinics specialising in male cancers was opened today (October 2 2003). The centre, based at Edinburgh's Western General Hospital, will provide testing, treatment and advice for testicular, prostate and penile cancer. The aim is to establish a network of clinics by 2005 that will offer so-called "health MOTs" for men across Scotland, where these cancers result in around 800 deaths a year.
