UK patients suspected of having colorectal cancer will be fast-tracked for endoscopy, if recommendations updating colorectal services policy are approved. The draft guidelines issued for consultation by the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) also recommend that endoscopy be used to confirm diagnosis, promising a major expansion in use of the technology.
