Private equity investment firm Apax Partners (Menlo Park, California) has appointed Gregory Casciaro as partner. Mr Casciaro, who headed bone graft substitute firm Orquest until it was sold to DePuy AcroMed, will help identify new investment opportunities in the medical device segment. Apax's UK office also announced the appointment of Dr David U'Prichard, ex-CEO of 3-Dimensional Pharmaceuticals, as venture partner, and Khawar Mann, former business development director with Weston Medical, to its healthcare team.
