The acquisition of German company Alphanorm Medizintechnik in September 2002 has done much to expand the business of Corin, the UK orthopaedics company best known for its Cormet metal-on-metal hip replacement and Rotaglide+ knee brands. Figures released this week showed that 36% of first-half sales of £11.81m ($18.5m), up 42%, were achieved in continental Europe, compared with 25% of the total in 2002.
