Executive Summary
Roche Diagnostics has identified a manufacturing problem affecting one batch of CoaguChek PT test strips that has been available in the UK since July 29 in which a packaging defect could give rise to an increased risk of falsely high results. This could lead to inappropriate anticoagulant treatment and a potentially increased risk of thrombosis, so the company is recalling the lot. The lot affected is catalogue number: 1937634-190 lot 583 and the company estimates that 3% of test strips from this lot are affected.
