EP (European Parliament) reviews far-reaching cancer screening proposals

Executive Summary

The Environment Committee (ENVI) at the European Parliament is due to hold on October 1-2 an exchange of views "without document" on the Commission proposal for a Council recommendation on cancer screening measures (see Clinica No 1058, p 9). The Commission proposal calls on member states to implement effective screening programmes for breast, cervical and colorectal cancers and may result in new opportunities for companies offering products in these fields.
