Executive Summary
The European Council of ministers for employment, social affairs, health and consumer affairs has now formally adopted a common position on the draft directive concerning the safe sourcing of human tissues and cells. The adoption was a formality, since the Health Council had reached a political agreement of a common position on the draft on June 2 (see Clinica No 1060, p 3). A second reading at the European Parliament now begins.
