Polish hospitals still suffering badly from debt:
This article was originally published in Clinica
Hospitals in Poland are still coping with enormous debt problems that will not be tackled until early next year. The government is still refusing to accept proposals made by the health minister, Leszek Sikorski, for funding to address some of this debt. The economy minister, Jerzy Hausner, meanwhile is now preparing two drafts on local health authorities and restructuring hospitals' debts, which will be launched early next year. Hospital debts total some Zl5.5bn ($1.4bn).
