German prosthetics register to improve market access

All German prosthetics manufacturers must have improved market access if quality care is to be upheld and improved, says the German federal association of guilds in orthopaedic engineering (BIV). This was the conclusion of the BIV steering committee earlier this month in Berlin. Delegates debated the prospect of new contractual negotiations between care providers and the statutory health insurance funds, with talks centring on the updating of the federal prosthetics register (Bundesprothesenliste).
