Spanish I+D+I programme boost from new foundation?:

Executive Summary
Spanish medical technology research may be set for a significant boost with the possible creation by industry federation (FENIN) of a foundation. The project, mooted at the federation's 25th anniversary conference last month in Barcelona, is still in its most embryonic stage, project leader Francisco Gozalvez told Clinica. Studies are underway to assess the feasibility of channelling certain activities through it, such as training and professional development, and campaigns to promote research through the national R&D programme (I+D+I), he explained. This is just one of the projects being considered by FENIN to raise the profile of medical technology (for further news of the Barcelona debate see also Clinica No 1065, pp 8-9).
