Executive Summary
Former Californian rivals Intuitive Surgical and Goleta-based Computer Motion have completed the merger announced in March this year (see Clinica, No 1050, p 12). The resulting company, which will operate under the name of Intuitive Surgical (Sunnyvale), marks the end of a costly patent dispute that began in 2000 when Computer Motion filed a suit against its rival.
