Executive Summary
An updated list of contact points within the medical device regulatory authorities of the European Economic Area (EEA), along with a list of vigilance contact points is one of the key features on the new website that has been launched by the European Commission. The lists attempt to cover the authorities of the 10 new countries that will join the EU on May 1 2004, but there are still many blank spaces to be filled. The medical devices, G4, within Directorate General includes Switzerland on its list, despite the country not being a member of the EEA. The new website is available at: http://europa.eu.int/comm/enterprise/medical-devices/index.htm
