Public access defibrillator manufacturer Cardiac Science has gained direct sales access to the UK through the acquisition of its main UK distributor, LifeTec Medical. The financial details have not been disclosed, but the Irvine, California-based company said that former LifeTec managing director Stuart Hildage, who secured the company about 20% of the UK AED market during his leadership, will continue to serve in his current capacity. Cardiac Science CEO Raymond Cohen said the acquisition was "warranted to ensure that we increase our share of this market". LifeTec will continue to operate from its existing offices in Timperley, UK.
