German industry floats proposals for DRGs (diagnosis related groups) upgrade

The German medical devices trade association, BVMed, last week put forward 17 proposals aimed at further developing the diagnosis related groups (DRG) system for hospital reimbursement. The move came in response to a request from the DRG institute, InEK at the start of the year, for professional bodies to make suggestions for improving the existing system. BVMed was appointed as the representative body for the medical devices industry.
