Improved quality-assured diagnosis of breast cancer is now available to women in the German federal state of North Rhine Westphalia thanks to accreditation of the first disease management programme (DMP) for breast cancer by the federal insurance department. The approval of the DMP was announced last week by Federal health minister Ulla Schmidt at a meeting of representatives of the North Rhine association of statutory health insurance physicians (KVNO).
