Executive Summary
Guidant says that five-year follow-up study data is now available to support the durability of its ANCURE bifurcated ENDOGRAFT system for treating abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAAs). The 319-patient study showed that of the 55 subjects to reach the five-year mark, none had experienced aneurysm rupture. Guidant notes, however, that a rupture was recorded in one of the other study patients. The ANCURE system was also found to lead to a steadily decreasing aneurysm size in most patients.
