Executive Summary
Spanish researchers are calling for greater access to testing for the HIV virus, after reporting a significant increase in late diagnoses. The number of patients who developed AIDS within one month of testing positive for the HIV virus, increased from 24.1% to 35.3% between 1994-96 and 1998-2000. Of the latter group, reports El Pais, more than 11% died within three months of developing AIDS.
