Executive Summary
Laboratory Corporation of America (LabCorp) has completed its acquisition of Dianon Systems for $598m. Dianon provides anatomic pathology and oncology testing services in the US through a central testing facility and four regional laboratories, and considerably expands LabCorp's cancer diagnostics offering. LabCorp expects the acquisition to add about 5 cents to its diluted earnings per share this year and to create cost saving synergies of about $35m a year by the end of 2005.
