Smiths recalls Deltec sets

Smiths Medical is recalling a number of Deltec-branded administration sets for use with the Graseby 500, 505 and AVI volumetric infusion pump systems, in light of a random and intermittent risk of over- or under-infusion. At the time of going to press, Clinica was awaiting confirmation from the company about the extent of the problem and whether the alert issued on December 6 by the UK's Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) was part of a national or international problem.
