Sorin has CE-marked for sale in Europe two new self-expanding endovascular stents. The FLYPE and HiFLYPE stents are cleared to treat femoral and aorto-iliac arteries, respectively. They combine the Milan, Italy firm's Carbofilm technology - a pyrolytic carbon-based biocompatible coating that, according to Sorin, virtually eliminates the risk of thrombosis - with a "closed cell" architecture that minimises unsupported vessel surface area, assuring optimal vessel coverage.
