Oslo, Norway-based PhotoCure has promoted current COO Kjetil Hestdal to the positions of CEO and president, effective January 1 2005. He joined the photodynamic therapy device manufacturer in 1997 as vice-president of R&D. Mr Hestdal succeeds PhotoCure co-founder Vidar Hansson, who is retiring.
