Fischer Imaging has agreed to supply its proprietary U-arm assemblies to Virtual Imaging, the Delray Beach, Florida-based distributor of Canon's digital radiography system in the Americas. These components will be incorporated into the Canon digital X-ray system designed for trauma and general radiographic use. The Fischer U-arm, currently used in Fischer's VersaRad-D digital X-ray systems, enables radiographers to minimise patient movement by manoeuvering the imaging around the patient rather than vice versa. This feature makes the system well-suited for use on trauma patients who cannot, or should not, be moved, says Denver, Colorado-based Fischer.
