Orthopaedic device manufacturer Exactech, has received US FDA 510(k) market clearance for its Equinoxe shoulder system. The company said that the prosthetic represents the next generation in complex shoulder fracture treatments, and should be available for sale in a full market release, early next year. Equinoxe combines robustness with complex anatomic precision to provide doctors with intraoperative flexibility. It is estimated that up to 25,000 shoulder arthroplasty procedures are carried out each year in the US, generating around $100m in revenue per year, said the Gainesville, Florida firm.
