Executive Summary
Varian Medical Systems has received FDA 510(k) clearance to mount 3D imaging capabilities onto its series of linear accelerated radiation therapy devices. Named cone-beam CT imaging, the technology has already proved to be effective in the company's Acuity range of radiation treatments. It will be implemented on Varian's On-Board Imager, used by doctors to administer real-time image guided radiation therapy (IGRT).
