Birmingham, Alabama-based HealthSouth has appointed Mark Tarr as president of its inpatient division, effective immediately. Mr Tarr joined HealthSouth, a provider of surgery, imaging and patient services, in 1993 and is now responsible for the day-to-day operations of the division's 103 rehabilitation hospitals, 184 inpatient-based outpatient centres and nine long-term acute care hospitals across the country.
