The EU is forging ever closer industrial and regulatory affairs links with China. Enterprise director general Jean-Paul Mingasson was in China during the penultimate week of September to confirm the effectiveness of the "consultation mechanism", the existing dialogue on legislation for industry products. He was seeking assurances that there would be increased transparency on draft policy and legislation from the Chinese government with the aim of developing greater coherence between the respective markets' industrial policies.
