Executive Summary
Lars Holmkvist has been named president of instrument-based systems developer Applied Biosystems' European region. Mr Holmkvist will oversee the operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). He will report to the president of the Foster City, California-based firm, Catherine Burzik, who was appointed last month (see Clinica No 1122, p 19). Mr Holmkvist has previously had a business development brief at Boston Scientific and EMEA vice-president responsibilities for Medtronic's vascular business.
