HealthSouth moves forward, restructures management team

Executive Summary
Healthcare services provider HealthSouth has made more management changes. The former chief executive of US Can Co, John Workman, has been named CFO, effective September 20. Mr Workman replaces acting CFO Guy Sansone. Lee Higdon and John Maupin have been elected to the Birmingham, Alabama-based firm's board of directors, and to the special committee of its board, effective immediately. Patrick Foster, president of HealthSouth's inpatient rehabilitation hospital division, and Larry Taylor, president of HealthSouth's surgery division, have both announced their resignations. Mr Foster joined the company in December 1993, and Mr Taylor in May 1987. Additionally, John Chamberlin, director of the board, has also resigned, effective immediately.
