The US FDA has cleared for sale Boston Scientific's next-generation embolic protection system for treating saphenous vein graft disease. The FilterWire EZ device consists of a low-profile embolic filter mounted on a guide wire and is designed to reduce complications during balloon angioplasty and stenting procedures by capturing embolic material that becomes dislodged during interventions.
