The US government's ongoing investigation into relations between medical device companies and group healthcare product purchasing organisations (GPOs) has now turned to possible charges of Medicare fraud. The New York Times reported on August 21 that the department of justice (DoJ) has opened a "broad criminal investigation" of the medical supply industry.
