Verheugen gets Enterprise and Industry portfolio in EC 25

Gunter Verheugen, former European commissioner for Enlargement, has been named as Enterprise and Industry Commissioner in the new 25-strong team of Jose Manual Barroso, president designate of the European Commission. German-born Verheugen has also been listed as of one of the five vice-presidents in the proposed team that needs the final approval of the European Parliament by November 1.
