The European electromedical industry association, COCIR, based in Frankfurt, Germany, has named Frank Anton as acting chairman of the board. His appointment follows the resignation of Tom Egelund, who has served as COCIR chairman since April 2002. Mr Egelund has accepted a new professional opportunity outside the medical devices industry. Dr Anton, chairman of the medical engineering division of the German association ZVEI, and president of European sales for Siemens Medical Solutions, will stand for election for the permanent role as COCIR chairman on October 15 2004.
