Olympus has established direct sales operations in China for its endoscope and biological microscope product lines after acquiring the local Chinese agency which had been responsible for selling the Japanese company's products over the last 40 years. Olympus (Beijing) Sales & Services will carry out direct sales, service and marketing activities. According to Olympus in Japan, it plans to expand its Chinese operations progressively and increase its sales from ¥bn, recorded in fiscal 2003, to Yen22bn over the next three years.
