iCAD, the Nashua, New Hampshire-based developer of computer aided detection (CAD) imaging systems, has closed a three-year, worldwide licensing and distribution deal with Siemens Medical Solutions. Siemens will integrate and distribute iCAD's Second Look digital CAD software for use with its Mammomat Novation full-field digital mammography system (FFDM). Mammomat, used for the early detection of breast cancer, is currently awaiting FDA clearance although it has been approved for sale in the rest of the world. Subject to FDA clearance, iCAD expects roll-out of the combined product to take place in 2005.
