Executive Summary
As part of its transparency efforts, the European Commission has put together a Vademecum on European standardisation policy and practice. As well as explaining policies to all stakeholders in standardisation (manufacturers, non-governmental organisations and standardisers), the guide gives Commission officials advice on how to use European standardisation to support the implementation of European legislation. It also aims to inform member state officials about the Commission's standardisation policy and to help them understand the mechanisms of referring to European standards in European policies/legislation.
