Executive Summary
Electrophysiology products firm EP MedSystems has gained FDA clearance to sell a line of deflectable diagnostic catheters. A deflectable catheter allows the physician to deflect its tip to steer the catheter into certain vessels and areas of the heart, which would be difficult with a fixed curve catheter, explained the West Berlin, New Jersey firm. The new catheters connect to EP MedSystems' EP-WorkMate electrophysiology workstation and other technologies used to monitor and diagnose cardiac arrhythmias.
