Kodak's Health Imaging Group has entered an agreement with Italy's Istituti Ortopedici Rizzoli (IOR) to develop an integrated digital imaging and data transmission system to support orthopaedics diagnosis and surgery. The system, which will use Kodak's Directview Web 5.1 solution, promises to simplify and optimise orthopaedics care and to improve accuracy during pre-surgical planning. "The transition to digital imaging represents a great challenge for orthopaedics," said Dr Aldo Toni, director of the Bologna-based IOR's medical technology laboratory, at the Forum Sanita Futura 2004 healthcare policy conference, held in Cernobbio, on April 5-8.
