Argentina's Foundation Against Anaemia (FACA) has just concluded another phase in its ongoing campaign to raise awareness of the importance of detecting the condition. Free blood testing was offered in pharmacies in the capital, Buenos Aires. The first phase of the campaign, held during the period October 2004 to February 2005, resulted in a detection rate of 40-50%, "of which, most people were not aware of the condition", said FACA.
