Executive Summary
The Danish medical technology industry association, Medicoindustrien, has reacted with surprise at the news that the science ministry is setting up a new degree in medicine that is targeted at the medical device industry. The trade association believes that the few doctors required by the industry can easily be recruited from the regular medicine degree programme and is keen to make it clear that what is needed is highly qualified engineers and combined degrees in engineering and medicine, as already offered by three Danish universities.
